I have a fluval flex 32.5, I only have 1 chromis and 4 hermits right now, it’s been up for a week. I’m planning on adding more, obviously, but want to know what is good for future clean up crew. I know if I put snails in the crabs may eat them to get their shells. Considering a brittle star, but I want something that will also clean the sand. Will a brittle star do that? I plan on adding a shrimp, thinking about a fire shrimp. I also made the mistake of putting crushed coral in, so I don’t think I can get a sand sifting goby. Maybe an urchin? Any advice welcome!

Crabs will try to go after your snails, but snails are my favorite CUC. If the crabs have plenty to eat imo your snails are a little safer. The biggest problem is having too many cuc’s in a tank. They start to starve and eat each other. I’d keep an eye on your tank and add things if the current crew isn’t keeping up. The CUC packages you see online are always way more than you need. I’ll look for a link about snails and which ones do what.

Snails:

3- turbo snails
3- astrea
2 - nassarius
2 - trochus

Awesome thank you. I’m thinking nasarius snails just to stir the bed a little, but I still want a brittle star and an urchin, but you are right, I want to make sure I’m not overdoing it
