hey everyone. I have a 13.5 gallon tank with 2 clowns and a damsel. I also have a coral banded shrimp the tank has been running for about 2 months. I was thinking about getting a clean up crew soon but don’t know what to get. I know the tank is already pretty heavily stocked and at ,most , other than the clean up crew, I’m probably gonna add a small goby. What clean up crew members should I get? Also has anyone ordered marine fish or corals or invertebrates online? What website is good and what are their policies? Should I order online or just try to find the fish at a LFS?

for clean up crew i will strongly recommend local source. inverts generally dont do well with shipping. in a 13 gal tank i would just a few different kinds of snails and some hermits.

Are Nassarius snails ok? The little “snorkel” on top isn’t poisonous right?

For a 13.5 gallon tank I would only add the following. Adding more tends to starve everyone. [emoji53]
You can add meaty eaters but make sure they get enough to eat.
Lol, I love brittle starfish and over time added 9 to our 75 gallon tank. They went from clean up crew to something that needs to be provided food for because there are too many.

Get

1 nassarius or 1 small brittle starfish for meaty clean up.
(Nothing poisonous about the nassarius. Cone snails are the poisonous ones and they are not generally sold.)

1 trochus (1st choice) or 1 astrea or 4 dwarf ceriths or 1 very, very small turbo snail for algae clean up.
Lol, not all of them, just pick 1.[emoji846]

2 or 3 Small blue leg or red legged or dwarf zebra (sometimes called right handed or left handed ?) hermit crabs for algae clean up and (personal preference) " just because". [emoji846]

Never kept the reds as someone (LFS?) told me the blues eat the reds and we already had the blue legs.
The blue legs killed all of our dwarf ceriths and stole their snail shells.

Personally, I really like hermit crabs, but a lot of people hate them, so feel free to skip them completely. [emoji846]

The red legs are different and usually much smaller than the scarlet hermit crabs.
Love the scarlets. Forgot we still had a few.

Other fancy hermits are the Halloween, blue electric and orange electric.

I have the following in my Nuvo 20g as cuc. 3 trocs, 1 nass, 1 female emerald , 1 blue legged hermit. Tank is clean of algae and everyone seems to be doing good. I feed once a day.
