Clean up Crew for 90 gallon, but 65 display

My tank is fully cycled and ready for a clean up crew. First question I have is what do I base the crew size on, the actual gallons of the tank, or only the display size?

I’ve read many people say snails are the best, but I’d really like some hermit crabs/crabs as well. Looking for suggestions on a good ratio and what kinds of each. Also wondering if I should fully stock or slowly build.

Base it on how much work/maintenance you want to do. The larger the tank and the more fish - the more cleanup crew you should have. Start small and scale up as unless you have a lot of algae and scraps for them to feed on they'll probably starve.

Thanks. Looking at Reefcleaners website, which I plan on ordering from, they aren’t are recommending a total of like close to 100 snails/crabs. Is that right? Seems like so much to me.
