Hey guys! I was just curious how large your clean-up crews were relative to your tank? I have 9 fish in a 55 all of them are under 3 inches. I have 10ish hermits, and a mix of about 8 turbos and Trocus, a conch and a goby. I have to mag float my glass daily, and my sand is not the cleanest. I’ve been thinking about upsizing by quite a large margin. Can this cause issues? I’m thinking about 60 more critters all together, small snails and hermits. Any advice?

What are your params? A tank with even the best stocked CUC will not be able to stay clean in nitrates and phosphates are running out of control

I have no issues with my parameters I just did a test and waste change yesterday, it’s more just for the visual feel. Water is clear, sand and glass are not.

I personally don't like hermits. If you can find some chitons, they are great algae eaters and will even eat Green Turf Algae. In terms of snails I think a conch would be good but if you feed a lot, a nassarius or two (or maybe more) might be better

75 gallon tank. 60ish hermits. 6 nassarious snails, 8 trocus, amphipods, copepods. Good flow helps too. I have plenty of empty shells around to for hermits if they want a new home. Sand is clean, rocks are too.

one hermit, 2 turbo's . 2 tuxedo urchins, about 40 to 50 various snails in my 75. I was out of action for 3 weeks now & a way to go still . needs a serious cleaning & w/t .
