I have a 28 gallon reeftank that's been running for about 9 months. I do a water change every 7-10 days. Fish: pygmy angel, firefish, small goby, clown, and a royal gramma- lots of rock and palys. I have a few blue leg crabs- wondering what else I should add. Thanks in advance!

Take the hermit out... Add cerinths! Cerinths are probably the best snails out there for small tanks... They can right themselves sometimes they breed in your tank they eat detritus and algae

Astreas are also good but trochus are the best since they can fix themselves if they fall. In your size tank id do

6 cerinths
3-6 astreas
1-2 Mexican turbos

Or

6 cerinths
9-10 astreas

The numbers really depend on feeding and stocking and how much algae your tank grows on a day to day basis

You could get a tuxedo urchin those eat coralline though but they get the film and filamentous stuff too

What EO48 said - the hermits will kill the snails for their shells. I would also add some Nassarius to keep the sand bed churned up. It's also cool when you feed the tank and they come out of the sand like Zombies coming out of the ground.
