What should a clean up crew consist of? Crabs, snails, etc?

Mostly snails. I don't care much for crabs myself. Cerith, Margerita, and turbo are some good options. Also nassarius.

Thank you. I have few crabs a couple of snails and a turbo

If you want a maintenance free CUC I would go with brittle starfish ( sand sifter) if no deep sand present, a shrimp or 2 to eat Hidden fish food and parasites on some fish, a turbo snail to lick the glass and most of the rocks clean and finally some nassarius snails to get into The places where the turbo snails can't fit.

Stuff to avoid!! Snails that get stuck upside down every five minutes( turbo snails and nassarius snails don't get stuck much),hermit crabs tend to kill each outer and snails for shells, and then you have the living sandstorm gobies.

Some guidelines to go bye.
One brittle starfish -50 gallons
One shrimp - 50 gallons
One nassarius snail - 1 gallon
Zero hermit crabs -1 gallon
Zero dummy snails that you have to flip all the time. -1 gallon
I would consider a gobi if it was a tidy worker.

I hope you find this help full :) Kuba

I would go through reefcleaners.org, John is awesome and has some amazing tank cleaner packages and you can't beat his price and he ALWAYS throws in way more extra snails than what you ordered. Go with his quick crew packages and they come with multiple snail species that will do wonders for your tank. Been using him for 2 years now with my 20L and 40 Breeder.

Thank you. I will check that out. It sound like a deal
