Clean up crew

i have a 30 gallon tank what would be a good clean up crew to get.

I'm a big fan of trochus snails, nassarius snails for turning sand, few turbos, maybe a couple hermits

This is a clean up crew for a 25 so you might need to add a little more but I think it sould be fine. They are all reef compadible and peaceful. It is also only a algae and detritus clean up crew so here is a sand stirring crew also.

That's WAY too much for a 30 gallon. I would go with 10 sails personally. No hermits.

how many cleaners would you recommend for 55 gallons no hermits at all plus there will be at least one sand sifting star

Largely depends on what they are cleaning up lol. Most people get them because they think they need them. Unless you have a new tank and are constantly dealing with chemistry issues that are causing algae, I wouldn't bother getting much. But if your tank is new, I would get around 10-15 snails. 3 different types so they aren't roaming the same area and competing for food.

+1 on this...I got 30 snails for a 105 gallon tank with dry rock and dry sand...not enough algae to support all those snails- lost 10 in the first month...I have ceriths, nerites and nassarius snails--all which I like due to the job they do on the rock, glass and sandbed...

Personally I am in love with my fighting conch. He's a little strange to look at but he completely cleaned up my diatom problem in a matter of days. Most days he's almost completely buried in the sand digging for food.

I would say as much variety snails as possible. Add them slowly. Don't more than 3 at a time because it's like 3 hungry mouths without foods plus when they are sensitive so dead snail will create nutrition. One snail per 2 week would be an ideal. I think maximum is about 10 snails for your tank.
