I generally clean my pumps every 2-3 months. This is about 9 weeks of growth. I believe they past due for a cleaning.Gotta love Kalkwasser, especially Brightwell Aquatics Kalk+2!

It's cool looking even if it is hampering flow! :)

Wow! Nice pink crust! The MJ1200 on my nano seized up the other day after 2 years straight running. The corals and fish in this tank are doing great! I was adding B- ionic 2 part in the chamber with the pump in it. Even the internal shaft and parts had crusty precipitation on it. I scraped and cleaned it off, reinstalled and the flow went up tremendously! Now I am adding the b-ionic in the over flow. I would think it would help?[emoji848]

The MJ1200 will run forever! I've has some going for many years. This is a WP-60, flow was slowing down due to the intakes being covered but it was still moving some water.
I have all of them soaking in vinegar now, soon to look like new.
