Hi all,

last Sunday I added two cleaner shrimp to my tank. After acclimating, they were slowly added to the tank.
After a few minutes they were under attack by my foxface, nipping at them and drastically reducing the length of their 'whiskers' (as the kids call them) ...

Is this common behaviour? They are now hiding all day, but foxface still seems to nip at them as soon as they come out of hiding.

Thanks all!

My yellow tang snacked on the “whiskers” of my cleaner but not too much off the top. After that she left them alone except when she begged for a cleaning.

I had a tang nip on my cleaner shrimp whiskers bit I put a whole sheet of nori instead of half to keep him picking at that instead. It worked, my tang was nice and fat off from the nori and my shrimp grew out his whiskers again.

It really is up to the personality of the fish. I have a foxface that is terrified by his own shadow and spends a lot of time freaking out even you close a door in a next room...
