Looks to me like it could be shell rot, it’s seen a lot in mantis shrimp. I’m not 100% sure tho.

Do you have any idea if its deadly?

No I’m not really familiar with it. However I do know that it can come off when they molt. As long as he’s eating and walking around still he should be fine. Just keep an eye on him.
