My cleaner shrimp moulted on Tuesday (26/03/2019). After I came home, it was gone and has not appeared since. Any idea what could have happened to it? I own a Yellow Watchman Goby, a yellow tail damsel, a diadem dottyback, a firefish and an ocellaris clownfish in a 30 gallon tank.

Generally it’s just hiding or in a cave somewhere, try looking at night or when blue lights are on, did it set up a cleaning station? Was it eating? How long have you had it for?

Okay has it been eating those? Try changing the diet up and or using a srynge to shoot some food into the caves to potentially feed it. The fish you have arnt predatory apart from the clownfish in some cases but I’ve never heard of them going after shrimp. Has your ammonia risen? And try setting up a camera for a time lapse infront of the tank leave it for 24 hours or however long you can and watch it, you might see the cleaner shrimp then

4 + days is a while to be hiding out after molt . sure there wasn't any shrimp left in the shell? Think any of your fish are big enough to munch on this shrimp?

Okay I’m not sure, if I was you I would check ammonia if it has spiked it’s likely the shrimp has gone to the big reef tank in the sky, otherwise it’s hiding if it’s hiding id set up a time lapse to ease your nerves
