cleaner shrimp disappeared

Four days ago, I bought a cleaner shrimp from Petco. The water was at 1.02 so I acclimated it by introducing it to tank water diluted to 1.02 and brought it to full strength in an hour and a half.

It seemed to be fine during acclimation. It was dark when I turned it loose. It's a big tank with a lot of hiding places but if it were alive I think I'd have seen it by now. Do you agree?

Probably molted and is hiding in the rock. Should come out in a few days after molt usually 2-3.

I hope you're right.
I can't see any good reason to keep inverts in diluted water.

I can hardly believe it, the cleanaer showed up this evening after 6 days!! An outstanding addition to my tank. ( :

I got a beauty of a cleaner shrimp a week and a half ago. Had it two days, and got up on the third day to find that one of its legs had gotten caught in an intake and the poor little thing died overnight.
Heartbroken Going to put baffles in front of any intakes to reduce flow in the future.
