I'd like to get a cleaner shrimp for my community tank. However, I'm a little concerned if it will be eaten. I added 3 peppermint shrimp as a test a few months ago. They promptly disappeared into my rockwork, never to be seen again. I don't know if they are (1) alive and hiding, although I would have expected to see some sign of them by now (2) eaten by fish, or (3) just generally died.

My fish list is below. It's generally the same list of fish I had before (before I moved and broke down the tank) when I had a cleaner shrimp, except for the anthias and dartfish. So technically species are pretty much the same, but the individuals are different.

longhorn cowfish
flame angel
2 clownfish
niger trigger
tomini tang
powder blue tang
2x yellow tang
hippo tang
desjardin tang
copperband butterfly
3x lyretail anthias (new over old tank)
2x zebra barred dartfish (new over old tank)
diamond goby
bangaii cardinal.

I don't see any particular problem, especially since I had most of these species in the past with a cleaner. I'm mostly just nervous because my three peppermints disappeared so quickly.

Niger trigger probably are them and will probably eat the cleaner. Some get away with it but I'd say the vast majority fail

The NT will take care of your shrimps

Any thoughts that the cleaner might get an exception since he helps clean the fish? There are lots of examples of predators ignoring species that could be food because they pick parasites off the predator.
