Hey guys I want your opinion on keeping cleaner shrimp with a Niger Triggerfish? Also I will be attempting to keep the cleaner with not only the Niger Triggerfish but the Snowflake Moray Eel.

I wouldnt. Triggers will eat anything.

Well you could try it, but why not try with something less expensive first

Peppermint shrimp might work, but since most fish don't think they are cleaners they will flat out eat them. Do you think I should try a coral banded shrimp?

Id try a peppermint. It really depends how hungry he is. Lol

I have both in my tank now with no problems. In fact the cleaner was fine with 5 niger triggers in there -- each about 3.5 inches. I pulled four of them out because they were eating all the food before my anthias could get any and now have just the one. They're one of the more docile triggers. That's not to say they'll never eat the cleaner but mine have always been more interested in being cleaned than eating it. Btw, I also have a fire shrimp and a coral banded and the triggers have never touched any of them.

My cleaner shrimp made it a year or so with my snowflake. The shrimp was a big one and I feed the eel every day. I seen it snatch the shrimp off the rock. On the flip side I put a baby trigger with a sand sifter star.. one day there was 5 legs independent. Eventually nature will take its course no matter what you do.

I was thinking though to add inverts in my sump, add lights and walla an invert reef tank.
