OK, I think I want to add a cleaner shrimp to my display. What I want to hear is good or bad results fellow reefers have had, and what specific cleaner shrimp you recommend.

I love keeping cleaner shrimp. The easiest to get and the most common are the skunk or scarlet cleaners and the only drawbacks I have found with these are that you have to be careful what fish you introduce so nothing eats them and if you feed corals and anemones directly, they will try to steal food from them.

I think the only downside is the fact that it's hard to spot feed corals. :)

I picked up a pair of skunks and put one in my main display & one in my display refugium.

I have a skunk cleaner and I love it. It even cleans my fingers when I stick my hand in the tank near his cleaning area. Free manicure!! :)

also, if you have two or more they will produce eggs AKA free coral food. :) I really like them in a tank, very cool animals.

as long as u dont mind having a thief in your tank(they like to steal food sometimes can even hurt lps coral)...go ahead :)

Hmm maybe I will go get a second one then! I've heard about ones dying if they haven't been introduced at the same time but I think I'm going to risk it.

I love cleaner shrimp. Never had a problem and they are fun to watch

i have a skunk cleaner who does not bother my coral or anemones when spot feeding, however my 2 peppermint shrimp are such a pain in the you know what whenever i target feed.... i refuse to remove them because they wiped out my aiptasia and produce eggs for corals like crazy.

if you plan on keeping lps and want to eventually feed them, forget about shrimps. I love the look they give a tank, but I like better to feed my scolys and other corals. Also they constantly move stepping on the corals closing them. I have a tank with no shrimps now and think it ends up being better for the corals and look of the tank
