Soo. I have had my 2 cleaner shrimp for about 6 months. This is 2nd time in a row they molted at same time. Is this normal. Do they eventually get on same sched?

Molting can be also triggered by chemical and temperature changes. Did these synchronized molts occur right after a water change or after topping off any chemicals, particularly iodine?

Wow. Good on you man. Did major cleaning last night after work. 30 percent water change. Tank is crystal and no issues. Just thought it was weird. All makes sense now. Ty..

One more question.. i have a pretty decent size sandy lightfoot crab. Can i expect the same?

Possibly, but Sally lightfoots are intertidal crabs, so they are way less sensitive to changes in their environment, compared to cleaner shrimp.

Ok because the crab has molted only once since i have had him. And it happened only once. I actually thought it was my crab dead. I couldnt believe how much it looked like it. Ty for your help.

I used to have molts like clockwork when I did a water change on my smaller tank. Less often now on my bigger tank with a different salt that matches parameters more (aquaforest reef).
