So i got cleaner shrimp today and they were chilling in the tank and than i added water to the tank it was missing some and the second i did it they both froze at the same time and havent moved in 10mins so i need help are they dead?

Welcome to R2R!
Did you acclimate them well? They can be sensitive to certain parameter swings. If they are just in the same place kind of swaying back and forth, it's just what they do

How long has the tank been cycled?

I let them sit in there bag for a hour and than put them in snd they seemed fine but now since i added water they just froze

Should always slowly add water from your tank to the bag before introduction. Shot glass every 5 minutes for half an hour or so. They'll probably be fine. Just getting their bearings. Mine has been bulletproof.

They are just sitting there and im worried they died i am not sure what to do

Have you checked your parameters? Anything else living in the tank?

I wouldn't stress it. Definitely don't mess with them unless they're floating upside down. Best thing for everything in your tank is no stress.

That's a lot of top off. Maybe a ph swing from it.

If they are dead they will normally be blown around or on their side, sounds as they have had a shock and are trying to recover, I would leave them alone, if they are going to make it there is nothing you can do now once they are in the tank, in future shrimps needs a good slow acclimation.
Also if they are dead the cuc/craps will start to eat them so again they may not be, but I will be prepared for them not making it as shrimps are very delicate to changes in salinity etc.

It won’t to the adding of the water that has caused the issue, most likely it was the lack of acclimation.
