Cleaner wrasse scratching on rocks

Just throwing out a bone here, is it possible that something else might be irritating him or picking on him? Another fish, an aggressive invert, stinging coral, new supplement/food or additive...something along those lines? It seems odd to me that a parasite would only effect one fish, after QT and various treatments, with no other symptoms...

@Humblefish is it possible for fish to have reactions to certain foods or additives...like an allergy? I'm purely curious at this point [emoji23]

Ive had these fish since sept/oct of 2016 so roughly 6-7 months ago. Is it possible that velvet can have been suppressed for that long?

Hypo and subtherapeutic copper can suppress symptoms of velvet. Other chemicals, such as formalin, will do the same - as they remove most of the parasites but almost never all. I've also seen velvet hit hard following TTM; which leads me to believe the transfers are outrunning some of the parasites, but due to velvet's accelerated life cycle NOT ALL.

It is possible for any fish to develop immunity to ich, velvet, etc. Provided they are able to withstand damage inflicted by the parasites long enough for their immune system to develop antibodies. However, these survivors still serve as carriers capable of infecting other fish and sometimes immunity wears off after (roughly) 6 months.

It is certainly possible. Medically speaking, almost anything that can happen to a human can happen to a fish.

I haven't seen any aggression from any other fish. No corals in the tank and haven't done anything different with regards to food. I feed pellets and mysis/bribe soaked in either selcon or vitachem.

My blonde naso survived a velvet outbreak almost a year ago but she's been treated with CP. The only fish in the tank that I didn't treat with cp are the pintails. I did treat them with cupramine.

So I'm hoping this isn't velvet.

following this what might be a dead thread.. I have some wrasses and angels.. large mixed display no other fish are scratching and knock on wood all doing really well. occasionally I see my wrasses... yellow coris and radiant...swim parralle to the gravel then turn side ways against the gravel.. almost like they are trying to lift something off the gravel.. its like a passing scratch.. no other fish are scratching.. so wondering if this is a display that wrasses do to hunt food?
