Cleaner wrasse

How old is your cleaner wrasse? People say its the kind of fish, that maybe will be alive for 6 months if you are lucky.
Well mine is 2 years old. It was in my 60g cube, I transfered Him to my 120g, and He still doing good. Am I lucky, or what?
Many people that came here to get frags or any equipment for sale, dont believe me when I say He is 2 years old.

I have had them for a long time too...
I have also lost them in a day due to my vortechs chopping them up..
Healthy fish in stable systems can live longer than most people think..

I had one for two years until it jumped somehow out of a tiny hole which I've never seen happen before

I had one for 2.5 years when I sold him. The trick is getting them to eat mysis or flake food.

I have had mine for 1.5 years. Great fish, he's ate frozen since day one. I also believe that having a bigger tank that has more fish definitely helps them.

I've heard them live for many years but this definitely isn't the norm (and seems to norally apply to L dimidiatus only). Also if you believe the poor shipping and acclimation survival rates it will make you very sad.

Good to know they are not that bad to keep it. Mine eats everything except dry food.

Unfortunately they are incredibly hard to keep unless you are lucky enough to get one which adapts to captivity and then you may have it for a long time.
