cleanig acrylic

:squigglemouth:Hey everyone I need some suggestions.For those of you who have been here have seen my 210gal acrylic tank.Normal cleanig is no problem but I have a situation I need help with.Here goes getting coraline off front pane of acrylic without scratching.I have some large spots I would like to get off.I have used standard mag cleaner,acrylic scratch pads but none have removed the stuburn coraline.

I've tried a credit card on a stick and a long handled scraper made for acryllic tanks (made/sold by Petco). Neither has been real effective. You can get corraline off with a lot of effort, but it's hard to keep up with its growth over time. If someone comes up with a better solution, I'd like to hear it.

I've been having a hard time getting the corraline off the glass with a blade on a stick. It's hard to tell exactly where you need to scrape and the stick tends to make a lot of frags. Last week I bought one of those blade holders that you glue to a mag float. It holds a little metal blade and works like a charm. I can scrub right up to the edge of the silicone, down to the sandbed, etc. I should have done that long ago.

Now; you may be able to substitute a piece of credit card for the metal blade and use it on acrylic. It cost about $12 so it may be worth a try.

mighty magnets makes a coraline killer type sock that goes over the magnet on the inside and have as plastic bar on it that is safe for acrylic..

Thanks and yes I do talk to my fish and corals.The scarey part is they talk back!!!I have one female clown that wants to kick my but real bad.My wife says she is gona pull me in the tank some day.LOL.
