I pulled apart my Waveline DC6000 for the first time.....my, what a big impeller it has! In looking at the manual, they don't talk about pulling the impeller apart to clean it....just show how to replace the stock impeller with a needle-wheel. Is there a secret in taking apart the impeller to be cleaned? Right now, the best I could do was with a Q-tip on those parts I could reach.

As far as I know the impeller does not come apart. It's very similar to the impeller in the jebao pumps which does not come apart either. I did the same with a q-tip and rinsing with water to clean.

We run pumps with impellers like that in 5 gal bucket with vinegar or muriatic acid to loosen deposits, rinse, then run in bucket again with warm water.

I do this with my Jebao RWs. I do a warm/hot bath of water and white vinegar. I run the RWs for 15min on full power. I then run them for 15min in clean water. Does a good job at keeping them clean.

Thanks everyone for the responses....I figured as much. I tinkered with the impeller for some time and figured it was permanently assembled. Oh poo!
