Hello all, im starting to get some nice algae on the 90 gallon...has anyone used the mag float that is safe for acrlyic? i dont plan on coming within 6" of the sand bed (ill use a magic eraser for that part?) i have a mag float just wanted to make sure i wasnt scartching anything as im new to acrylic, thank ya

use the magic eraser for all of it! I started off using a mag float & no matter how careful I was it always somehow got something in it & scratched the acrylic don't wait if you see a bit of coraline on the acrylic get rid of it asap think that was my biggest problem!

I use a kent algae scraper for acrylic tanks every swipe tho I bring it up & wipe it with a paper towel cause I found if anything sticks on it it will leave a scratch I check every day for coraline & remove it

The best I have found for the inside is the magic eraser works like a charm. Rub just a bit if you have some coraline and it takes it right off. As for the outside my tank manufacturer told me to use plexis its a addiction polish spray for motorcycle plastics. This is the best stuff. It polishes and protects. Buy some micro fiber towels and only use them for the tank and spray the plexis your tank will sparkle. I buy the plexis on amazon

my coraline won't come off with the magic eraser for some reason & yeah I tried! I clean the outside with coralife acrylic buffer/polisher & a micro fiber towel bottle has lasted over 2 years I only clean 1x week doesn't get very dirty on the outside:wink:
