Just wondering if there are any tips to clean the inside corners of the DTs with algae scrapers. I have a reefer 350 and I am very careful when cleaning the corners for fear of damaging the silicone seal. Is this a real possibility or am I overthinking the whole process? What tips do you have for cleaning the corners of the aquarium?

I wouldn’t use a scraper for fear of tearing the silicone. You could always use a sponge to clean the inside glass every water change.

I use to worry about bad silicone jobs but I have seen a few tank recently that have chunks missing and still hold water without any leaks.

The problem with the sponge is that it doesn't remove the hard algae in the glass

That’s what a flipper or other magnet cleaner is for! I use the sponge mainly for corners but will get other hard to reach spots.
I use the flipper too. The sponge side does not get rid of the stubborn algae in the glass.

I use a metal scraper on the glass, and then when I get to the corners, I use one of those course that is made like steel wool, but the material is much softer. It has worked well so far.
Do you have a link to what you use?

Near corners and other joints where silicone can be damaged, I generally use a plastic scrapper and carefully remove any algae on the glass.

This page is the exact product that I have. There are some other versions of it by the same company that are probably quite similar.

ORIGIONAL magic eraser works pretty good
Without using sharp metal blades

I have a flipper and it sliced the silicone on the corner of my tank. The razor is sharp and the magnet is very strong. I don’t have a leak but will never get close to the silicone again with that thing!

This works for me. Extends from about 20 inches to 35. Fiberglass and comes with six attachments including a corner sponge. Never get my hands wet. Link below.

Seachem duopads are good. It’s basically a magic eraser but one side is more coarse for getting the really built up algae.

Sadly the link doesn't seem to work. What is the name of the product?
