Cleaning BB DT

So my siphon thingy I use for water changes will not pick up heavier debris in the tank, along with some debris from my rock over the months, I moved some rock around and dang I need to clean this up. I put the power heads all the way to the bottom of the tank and this stuff just settles in a new spot instead of my hopes of it going into my sump to filter out. What are people using to suck up this debris with, because my way isn’t working very well. Looking at reviews it is a tad hard to make a decision so looking for BB owners input.

I use a 1/2” vinyl hose too vacuum heavier debris. I just try not to siphon a lot of sand.

I use a 1" vinyl hose and syphon into a 5 gallon container the piles that accumulate. The 1" is worth it because stuff gets stuck in smaller hoses. Ime you wont ever get the heavy stuff to blow into the overflow. Bb really can be a pain for this reason.

1" hose with a section of 3/4" pipe stuck in one end. Clamp the other end in a filter sock in the sump.
