Hello,
My dad currently has a 120g reef tank. After a massive die-off of coral and fish, we have noticed the tank looks grey. With grey slime on the rocks and it looks like a mess... Low and behold he's been using a cleaning product on the floor that has Propan-2-ol in multiple times a day. I have also noticed 2 rusting pump connectors in the sump.
What would be the best way to help clear this up? Everything is slimy including all the rock and sand. I also think due to stuff dying and not being able to find it it's creating more problems. (All the CUC died also) Nitrates are around 150ppm.
I have added carbon to a reactor and increased flow and blew the rocks. Sand is covered in Cyano too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is no better way than this:

That is a complete roadmap to surgical takedown cleaning of rocks sand and replacing all water.

match the temp and salinity to the old water

and re ramp your lights after its done, save what you can, reassemble.

do not settle for simple carbon filtration and a water change, do what cook did

after the reassembly do not run gfo or any other media other than carbon and try and bind up the remains

It’s a big job but look how often we do it. Here’s another perfect roadmap to rip cleaning a 120, same steps as Cook. This tank here was in no distress he does it preventatively, even with all those corals in place it’s not harmful to run like once thought:
