Cleaning conch shell?

I got a fighting conch about a year ago and now the top of his shell has some algae on it. Is that normal and does anybody clean their conchs shell? It went from white and red to a brownish green color.

Totally normal. One of my snails has algae all over it. It’s pretty fun to watch one of the hermit crabs climb on top of him and start eating it off his shell!
