Any advice on good cleaning crew for bio cube 32 an when to add them... tank 3 weeks old just gettin through cycle

A rule of thumb you'll often see around here is to go check out ReefCleaners, find your tank size and cut their recommended counts in half (they suggest very large cleanup crews).

That being said, the purpose of a cleanup crew is to ... clean up, so if your tank is still spotless and algae free, you can certainly wait. If you're not going with a bulk package like ReefCleaners or another, you can always add them piece by piece as algae starts to appear.

In general, snails not crabs and take it slow as the VAST majority of tanks' cleanup crews die of starvation due to lack of detrius, algae, etc.

+1 on cutting the estimate in half. Also, if you decide to order from reef cleaners, the order has to be $25+. On top of that shipping is $15 minimum. So that's a $40 order minimum. So you may want to see if your lfs has some of the cleanup crew from this estimate. Also say in the extra notes section types of species you don't want (ie hermits, emerald crabs, etc.)

Clean up crews can be purchased at anytime really, if there is no algae, make sure to provide them with algae based pellet food for inverts, buying them in bulk will save you money in the long run, but it also depends of how you want your cleanup crew to look..... Mine are trochus snails, because they are a workhorse and spawn in captivity easily and they stay off the sand, halloween hermits, and scarlet red hermits for their bright color, and they eat all the algae, tonga nissarius snails for the sand bed.

Thank you.. I just restarted my tank so it’s been a while since I’ve been cycling and all the start up process. I always used reef cleaners as well glad to know they are still well known. Thanks!
