My DT was fallow for 1.5 months until I just tore it down (moving)
My fish were done with a 30 day treatment of chloroquine phosphate so I just re made the whole DT when I moved. But a couple of days ago (1.5 months in) i took the filter off of my DT, took out the pad, took it completely apart and ran it under fresh scorching hot water. How much of a chance is there for the velvet to return? I lost two fish, one was beat up by a damsel (who’s now in the ***** tank) and the other I chalked up from going through the cycle again (nitrites were at 2-3ppm, he was breathing really heavy). I have three clowns and a coral beauty now in this tank. They are eating. Ohh man I hope I didn’t mess this all up again

Thanks, I read it already but am unsure on how to clean the water pumps. I feel like they never completely dry. I’m also worried if vinegar will actually get rid of it (worried about bleach wearing down the o rings).
I plan on bleaching everything that doesn’t have rubber attached

If you take the pump completely apart, and blow a fan over it for 24 hours... everything will be thoroughly dried. ;)

Looks like I won’t have to worry about it, my skimmer pump no longer works it’s time for an updated one anyways, I have my water flow pump sitting in the sun
