Is there a specific technique to cleaning the glass? The only thing I use to clean the glass on my tank is a flipper, but i've developed 4 scratches on the inside of my tank over the past yr. I have a bare bottom tank, so the number of items that could have gotten stuck in the flipper should be fairly minimal.

I've always used the magnet with the scrapper attached without issues. You do have to keep it clean though. If you leave it in the aquarium it can develop these almost barnacle types pieces, no clue what they're actually from, and when you use the scrapper it can scratch the glass. Also depends on the type of glass as some are more prone to being scratched. I have manually used a scrapper with success too.
