I have Uronema in my tank so I have to break everything down and bleach it. I'm curious about my manmade rock. I put it in a bin to bleach clean it at a 10:1 ratio and a milky white residue started forming at the bottom of my container. Does anyone have any experience bleach cleaning manmade rock? Is this normal?
If I can't disinfect it with bleach, what else can I use to make sure the Uronema has been removed from the rock?

You can try Hydrogen Peroxide solution. It will kill all organics

Hey why not put it in boiling water it will probably kill everything on the rock without leaving any type of chemical residue?

Don't do this.
Makes people really sick sometimes.
Sometimes the rocks also blow up.

just bleach it and rinse it until you are sure you smell no more bleach. After that let it dry for a week or so if you can. Then give it one more good rinse and you should be good.

I dont know what the white stuff is...but please dont boil it lol.
Yeah, no...didn't really want to go the boiling route. I've read about what's happened to people who boil rock and then end up in the hospital....

Sounds like a solid plan....goes along with what I had planned to do....but that weird milky white substance freaked me out and I thought my rocks were disintegrating...
