How often do you have to clean mesh tops due to salt creep. Also, how do you clean them. Looking to potentially switch from glass lids on my 75g reef. Thanks!!!

I just cleaned my mesh top today for the first time.
Took it into the garage and used my air compressor to blow off all the acumulated salt crust and cat hair, lol.
Worked well and looks new again.
How long did you go without cleaning it? Does the salt creep accumulate quickly?

Thanks for the replies. Will be changing to the mesh tops sometime soon I hope.

I clean them every few water changes. Since I do water changes every 6-8 weeks, maybe twice a year? I take them to the utility sink and blast them with the sprayer and hot water. Allow them to drip dry and then put them back on when I'm done with the water change.
