Every time I try to clean my sand bed I end up with brown hair algae

lets clean it right; all at once, kill the algae, vs partial cleaning. a total system clean is better, we have outcomes logged for 30 pages in one thread if u want to see/apply it.

all the waste in sandbeds loves to fuel GHA issues, we can beat it pretty easy with full and accurate cleaning/not leaving waste in the tank. partial sandbed cleaning always kicks up a cloud; this is the ongoing fuel. a full pass cleaning leaves no cloud, in the sand or on the rocks. your sandbed has literally nothing the top reef requires; its how people are getting away with going bare bottom in the thousands of tanks nowadays///

but I like sand myself, so what I do is just keep it clean. occasionally I deep clean it, vs do what everyone does and not ever deep clean it lol

I simply stir my sand almost daily. There is almost no "cloud" when I stir frequently. However, my sand is really for aesthetics only and is not a deep sand bed.

Thank you for your reply! Where can I find the thread for it?

its a big read, highlights:

-when the new tank is reassembled (your old tank, just clean this time) dont run full on lighting, re ramp back up like you got new led's
-sandbed detritus is whats dangerous in these works; not lack of bacteria. In all cases above we take down the tank using an order of ops that doesnt cloud the sensitive fish and corals
-100% track record of no full tank losses when done in the right order
-agreed on stick stirring, when cleaned begin that practice.

post a pic of your full tank we will make a custom job here
