Cleaning question filters and charcoal

So I have the all in one 5gallon eve. How do you know when it’s time to change the charcoal pouch ? And to clean the black sponge filter.


I know it’s probably a crazy question.

Weekly with your water change for the sponge. 1 time per month for charcoal.

Okay so yea I need to clean mine. Also I know to rince it off in the ROID water. But what if I finde any big pods in it should I put them back ?
