Hey guys,

I've done my aquascape and nearly cycled. However I've come aware cleaning the sand under the rock is not exactly going to be the easiest.

I can't get my siphon under the rock as the siphon is too big.

Other people must have this issue I want the sand kept nice and clean. What suggestions do people have for cleaning?

eventally I will get a sand sifting goby but at the start I need to be able to do it myself.

Many thanks for suggestions

Hi Jono,
It would be best to put your rock on the bottom of the aquarium, then fill with sand, especially if you get any sand sifters that dig around and make your rock shift.

You could get a turkey baster in there to gently squirt at it or manually push it around.
