Not sure if this is the right spot to post this but feel free to move it if it isn't... i have a cpr bakpak 2r... cleaning the cup is a PITA does anyone know any tricks? i've just been sticking a kleenex on a turkey baster to get it through the cylinder and to reach the bottom of the cup... there's just gotta be an easier way:confused:

Get one of those pipe cleaners or i use a toothbrush or a small paint brush, all have worked wonders for me!

Well ya pour it out, then use one of the sponge tipped paintbrushes to get all the gunk outta there. Of course this means cleaning that gunk-filled sponge brush, which makes it nasty. Your preference on the tool used really.

baby bottle brush, it's made to get into those tight cylindrical spaces. Works pretty good too.

i use hot water and my finger. after that i wash my hands like crazy. im too lazy to get a toothbrush or paintbrush and "paint" the skimmate off.

Hot water is all you need, well here is what I do, just fill it up with hot water, make sure it actually is hot to the point you don't want to touch it. Then after it has filled with warm water let it overflow, then dump out the water after about 2 or 3 minutes. Then move the skimmer cup around the faucet to the place where the gunk/materials have built up and apply warm water there.

i've tried the hot water thing but it sprays all over thus making a bigger mess i'm going to try the baby bottle brush seems like a great idea

haha. phil... i was part (yes part) kidding when i told u how i cycled my tank. haha. but the skimmer deal is serious. im just too lazy to get a brush out. besides what are we all wussy ________s (fill in blank) here or something? skimmate aint gonna kill u. obvously its no different than sticking your hand in your tank.

** sighs. ok phil. you win. haha. well thats y im going to drill a hole in my skimmer and make a drain line.

hahah thanks for reliezeing that skimmate is fish poop! dont worry i still love ya bro(in a no **** way, dont get to happy bud ha ha jk)

then again.. every time you walk on the beach... your walking in skimmate. (wave foam is skimmate ppl). think about it next time you're on the beach

i dont go to the beach i live in rochester ny, BEACH=SEAWEED GROSS SMELLING STINKY WATER, i tend to pass oon that and instead go play basketball lol

well all i know is, skimmate aint all that bad. you can also use an algea sponge to clean the cup.

a foam paintbrush! NOW THATS AN AWESOME IDEA!

How the heck that never occured to me....

My only question would be are they treated like some of the kitchen sponges with an anti mildew/mold chemical.

If not, im buying a bunch next time im at HD.
