Cleaning sump question

It is time to clean the sump. My plan was to drain and then use the shop vac to suck up the detritus. I have some aptasia growing on the walls in the sump Any thoughts about scraping the aptasia into the small volume of sump water and sucking them out with the detritus?

My only concern would be missing a small one, having it make its way into your display tank, and then having them in the display. You could always get a peppermint shrimp if that does happen though. Either way, if you leave them be they'll eventually make their way into the display at some point.

My problem is that I am already getting them in the display. I too have concerns about spreading them with a search and destroy mission. I just do not want to turn a trivial problem in the dt to a huge problem. Hence the question. Lol
