I just broke down my 30g tank yesterday and soaked with vinegar. On the back wall ( where i used to dosed 2 parts) there is a thick coat of white stuff ( i think it's calcium precipitation ), Tank has been soaked overnight , i try to use metal razor blade to scratch it off but it wont come off.
Please help

For really thick deposits it can take multiple applications of vinegar.

I put the tank on its side, put a towel over the thick calcium buildup, then soak the towel in vinegar.

Come back in 30 minutes or so and it'll come right off!

Muriatic acid diluted 1 part acid into 9 parts cool fresh water is far faster than vinegar, but you need to be very careful with the undiluted acid.
