Hi Experts,

I am getting a lovely tube anemone and realised that it has a long body covering and covered in sand. I am afraid that there could be parasites hiding in there anď it looks ugly . Don't know how it is attached to anemone's body but can this body covering be removed manually (by hand)? Will it hurt or injure the anemone?

I would Not remove that protective covering. They build them around themselves to protect themselves.

Every tube I've ever seen ditch the protective sleeve has died soon after.

Once you place the anenome in the sand, cover the protective cover completely. You wont have to see it.

Thank you very much.
