So i saw a video awhile back where a guy used a reactor to pull water into it then it went through a filter then pumped back into his sump. I can't find the video and i want to make one like this. Would i just be able to buy a reactor put a pump on end then have some sort of filter to hold the debris and then have another hose that goes into the tank again?

and if so what would you recommend to catch the small/large particles?

Couldn't you just run your siphon into a filter sock right back into the sump?

This is the video you were referring to:
I built one similar and just attached a normal python tube to it. Works great. 50 micron catches alot.

Yeah i could, but I'm looking for something that doesn't involve me getting my socks dirty as my wife would much prefer me not cleaning them in the washer as often.
