I was need to and about to clean my hob protein skimmer and wanted to see what was the best way to clean the skimmer and the the pump

Full disassembly, soak in RODI and vinegar, scrub with a toothbrush, rinse well in fresh RODI a couple times, reassemble, let dry. Good as new. Hope that helps.

Be prepared for a break-in cycle if you fully clean it this way. if it's not too gunked up you can just use warm water and a brush.
