Seeing how much they scavenge, how they keep my tank so clean and my nitrates and phosphates down - I'm honestly too terrified to entertain the though!Does anyone not have a cleanup crew and has had success without one? I’m curious.
If you plan to have a bare bottom tank, to vacuum out leftover food religiously, and are prepared to do larger and more frequent water changes to keep up with the added nutrients, sure. But why would you not want a cuc??Does anyone not have a cleanup crew and has had success without one? I’m curious.
I am perfectly happy with my tank and I don’t like snails but I do have a shrimp and am considering some little crabs. If you plan to have a bare bottom tank, to vacuum out leftover food religiously, and are prepared to do larger and more frequent water changes to keep up with the added nutrients, sure. Slug life! The right snails are awesome. Nassarius snails have these little periscopes that sprout up through the sand as they move around.I am perfectly happy with my tank and I don’t like snails but I do have a shrimp and am considering some little crabs.
Same everything i hear about crabs always killing snails and my Hawkfish may kill them to so snails for me only.I have snails only, no crabs allowed in my my main tank, so I guess I keep half a CUC, which works well for me.
I have considered one.they are key for me in the balance for the "system". don't like algae a lot more than I don't like slugs...
How about urchins?
