clear cover on overflow

Are there any issues with having a clear cover on the overflow? I'm having clearview lids make a cover for my tank, but there's any issue with clearance on my overflow lid.

Definitely not a problem with having a cover on the overflow. I covered my overflows after I had a fish that managed to get into one. Although I chose black plastic for my cover to block out the light and prevent any algae from growing in the overflow.

I think the only potential issue would be that it lets light in so algae might grow in the overflow, but that’s not the end of the world... you can always clean it if it starts getting bad.

ok. I have a Reef Savvy Ghost. box in the tank is solid, outside is clear.
