Clear mesh top

It looks like it comes on some pretty large rolls. I wonder if we can get small enough amounts? Maybe a group buy if enough are interested? I know I would be.

This is such a good idea. My wrasse just jumped out of its tank today while I was at school! Luckily my boyfriend was home to put him back in. I thought my canopy was fish proof, but I guess not.

Ya...I'd hate to have to buy 200 feet for three 2 ft x 2 ft sections!

Clear would be great, but the black doesn't block much light either.

I sent him a pm as well. I did find 1/4" clear mesh netting at www.industrialnetting.com. It is called clam netting, and is available in clear. Too late to call today. They sell it in their aquaculture section. No idea on pricing. I'll call tomorrow and let everyone know.

I called this am and they have such a large minimum order that a group buy would be the only way to make it economical.

I am pretty sure that is why Jim is offering all this for sale.... ;)

I haven't seen any mesh offered for sale....did I miss something?

Oh....I also learned that this same type mesh is used to hold blown-in insulation in place....same issue with buying a lot, however.

The guy that started the thread has a bunch and is selling some. As of yet he hasn't responded though. I'd just like to know where he got the clear in this size.

Hey guys. Sorry for not getting back with you guys.

I notice I have several PM's and haven't been getting notifications. I will work on replying to those now. I do have plenty of mesh left over as I bought an entire roll of it. I want to keep this thread on topic as a DIY, but maybe I can start a selling thread for some of it for those that are interested.

Ok here's a pic.

I love the top. Looks very clean and OEM. They should include it with the tanks. haha. I like how the frame sits flush with the tank trim.

Just put mine in today.
Perfect fit!

Thanks again,
Knuckles

Glad to hear it fits! I don't make many of the frames for people because I am always nervous about it fitting just right (that and shipping is a pita). I supposepart of it is a trust issue when you get the measurements from someone. I review engineering plans for a living...I see enough mistakes it makes me very cautious.
