Is this what it uses to feed or is this a pest? Just noticed this

Those are its feeding tentacles.

And that is a favia. Not a chalice. ;)

Called sweepers, yes they feed with it and offence or defense towards other corals.
 
I'm not sure that's a chalice either, looks more like a favia. But either way those are feeder tentacles.
