Clear/White Film on Rocks

I’ve had a clear/white film on my live rock recently. Not sure what it is. Anyone have any ideas and how to get rid of it. I scrub the rocks when I do water changes but it comes back.

Could be bacterial. Do you dose anything?

Tank has been up and running for 6 months. I dose Red Sea A,B,C (Magnesium, Alk, Calcium). Red Sea Trace Colors A,B,C,D and Red Sea N03PO4X.

Salinity .023 (I know it’s low, working on it)
PH 8.2
Ammonia undetectable
Nitrite undetectable
Nitrate undetectable
Phosphate undetectable
Calcium 480

I run 2 Kessils for 12 hrs 10am to 10pm with max intensity at 80%.
I also run a Red Sea 300 skimmer

That's alot going into a fairly new tank. Im unfamiliar with the red sea colors and nopox,and dont like to dose for anything i cant test for. Myself.i would try to get my nitrates and phosphate detectable and see if it has any effect.
Maybe another will chime in with more knowledge on the trace elements.

Yeah it might be a lot. I was just trying to give the coral everything they need. So feed more? Go a little longer on the water change? The water is too clean?

Yep, need to get some N03 and P04 up. Try discontinuing water changes for a week or two.

Okay. The tank is a Red Sea Reefer 170 which is a 43gal tank I usually do a 10 gallon water change every week. So maybe stupid question what’s to benefit of having a little no3 po4 compared to have none?

Corals fair better with some in the water collum. They can and do use it as food. Lack of it can in some cases lead to paling colors or bleaching. More so in keeping nuisance algaes from occuring or cyanobacteria out breaks.

Okay this makes sense. I’ve been trying to keep my water absolutely pristine. Thanks for the input. I’ll trying dirtying the water a little lol.
