Thank you! Can the slot be made any smaller or is that about what it needs to be for the feeder? I haven't ordered the feeder yet so I don't know what it needs.

The drum moves out from the feeder so you have to make sure there's an opening for the food to drop. I just checked my order. I had mine made 3 1/4 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches from the inside edge of the tank.

Just any update on anyone considering buying this for the 80g rimless, Not sure if its a defect with my mesh lid but Ive had it about a month now and the net started to catch waves from the ripples in my tank, and slowy and slowly it started dipping until now it pretty much sits about 80% in water. My water line is about 1"-1.25" below the tank.

It didn't bother me at first but now the entire mesh has essentially turned into a giant algae scrubber and is brown. Would make more sense to have the net be attached from the top of the frame instead from under it imo. Sad cause I really liked the design.

I'm always curious with posts like this one, did you reach out to the vendor? Give them an opportunity to remedy?

I understand if you did and they fell short of your expectations, that a subsequent post like this would make sense. But if this is the first they are reading of your issue, it puts the vendor at a significant disadvantage.

Are you using MH lighting? Did the screen stretch as a result of higher than normal temps from your lighting? I'm fairly certain that AA purchases the screen material and only fabricates the framing. Maybe there was a bad batch of screening?

I have no affiliation with AA whatsoever and am not even a customer, yet, but feel that every vendor should have an opportunity to remedy a one-off issue before is shared publicly.

All that said, I hope AA is able to help remedy as I'm sure it's as simple as a replacement screen.

Have you tried buying a splining tool and re-seating the screen into the jam? Not sure if it works with how the lid is constructed, but if its like how I imagine this could be a simple fix.

Yes, it's set up like a window screen. The screen looks like the stuff that Bulk Reef Supply sells.

It's probably the same it's not very thick screening a fish was able to jump out and break a piece of the net and dry on the floor. I think they need to find a better netting solution

My Midas Blenny chased my red tail flasher to his death the screen is fairly thin..nothing with age. However the overall quality of the screen is very good and I'm satisfied with that

Radion G4 pro LEDs, they don't get too hot.

Nope I didn't bother contacting them, they are pretty busy with orders and weren't the quickest in replying when order. It seems to be a design issue and I don't feel like ordering/paying/waiting for a new Lid. Just giving my opinion and feedback to others with a 80g rimless

I said I wasn't sure if it was a defect in the netting but after cleaning the algae off, it became taut once more but is still catch waves from mp40s. I'm assuming it will start sagging again once it starts getting weighed down by algae growth. The shallow tank style and the aggressive wave settings just might not work with this. IMO the entire thing would probably have to be redesigned where the net hangs from the top portion of the frame to give it a bit more clearance (as opposed to being closer to the water) or the lid itself being thinner.

Hi Alan, we appreciate you bringing your concern up, but do wish you had reached out to us first. There are HUNDREDS of ClearView Lids out there and this is the first we've heard of this so I suspect you to certainly be in a minority here. But, I can certainly say your configuration having an issue doesn't surprise me now that we all see the setup. At their current thickness and configuration our lids sit 1/4" into the tank below top edge of the glass. With a 1" water line AND an MP40 running on any type of mode that causes wave/surge action you can quickly eat up this small of a space and get your screen wet. To be fair, this could happen with just about any screened product in this situation resting even remotely below top of your glass.

That said, we aim to please and keep fish safe in style on tanks everywhere. If you want your screen moved to the top of your lid to meet the needs of your particular situation please send us an email to [email protected] to discuss. If you cover the shipping we will cover the material/labor to rescreen and machine a spline channel on the top face of your lid and bring your screen up higher.

We are happy to do this for your unique situation, but this is not something we would want to integrate as an 'improvement' to the main design. Two reasons for this....One, cosmetics. This would make the spline much more visible and would eliminate the nice rounded inner frame edge. Two, machine time/cost. Currently, the lids are machined all from one side. Having a spline channel on the top face would require flipping and accurately indexing each and every lid during production to allow machining on both sides. This would increase machine time on each lid by at least 30-40% so would negatively impact cost while also negatively impacting appearance.

We are open to other potential netting solutions but the wide availability of this netting product to us AND our customer's is in large part what drove the use of it.

If my red tail flasher wrasse i bought for $100 jumped out and dried out theres an issue with the netting used.

We are all ears if you have a potentially better netting solution that you think will work Aaron. With hundreds of ClearView lids and thousands of DIY lids out there using this very same netting successfully we are confident that we have the current best all around solution. With THOUSANDS of people using this same netting, your fish breaking through the screen is still the first and only time we've ever heard of something like that happening. Though it's sad, we maintain a level of solace in the highly isolated nature of your loss. We are all about the animals and their safety so certainly happy to entertain any specific suggestions you think may better our products.

yea im on the fence because i also have a an 80 rimless with a water lvl thats similiar to the above poster and same exact setup with 2 gen 4 radions . im afraid that it would dip into the water due to the light intensity and wave action. do you have one where we can see what it would like with the netting on the top >? i have 6 wrasses so i cant have any gap as i already just lost an exquisite that seemed to fit through an inch gap then flopped on to the top of my screen somehow .. it makes ya wonder sometimes how it can manage to flip itself backwards after it jumps through an inch hole . anyways i have 2 rms mounts and would need 2 holes halfway up on the sides just to fit a wire for my rw 8s. is the wait time still 6 weeks?

Probably wouldn't be the lighting but the RW-8 would cause the same issue. And this was my intention, just to make others with the same tank aware.

I purchased the lid for the 80g deep blue specifically being sold on the website and was told you had all the dimensions etc, all i needed to provide was if i needed any holes cut (i didnt). Thanks for the offer but im not looking to invest anymore $$ to fix the product, which is the reason I did not reach out to you first.

How about going to Lowes or Home Depot or w/e is near you and go into the cabinet section. Try finding some of those soft-gel style caps that go on cabinet doors that are supposed to serve as a door stop when you close them. Pick up eight that are small enough width wise to allow the lid to be slightly raised on the top of the tank without actually creating a space that isn't covered.

This in addition to a spine roller could remedy the issue as far as not having wave clearance.

could try lowering the pumps to avoid making less of a wave? adjust the overflow gate? any reason you guys dont try a simliar product to what im uses for their screen top? ithat wouldnt bow if water hit it
