So far I have had no problem spending money for quality equipment, especially those that have a huge impact on my success, (LED's, Pumps, PowerHeads, etc) but when it comes to a lid I really don't want to spend $400, (after adding feeding doors, cutouts, cord slots). The only place I have found so far that makes lids to fit the Red Sea Reefer XXL 750 is Clearview Lids. I wanted something a little better than the Red Sea DIY lid, but I am not looking for a work of art...it's just a lid after all.

I just figured I would reach out and see what others chose and if there are any other options out there that are better than the DIY lid, but not quite a work of art and with a better price point.

Clear view lids are great quality I've had 2 there awesome good craftsmanship you won't be disappointed.

Is that the Classic Lid? It doesn't look like you have cutouts for the light mounts, did you just slide the lid all the way forward to make room or is it just the angle of the picture that I can't see the cutouts?

They come already like that for the lights. There will be a part on the site where you select which brand of tank you have. If you want custom cut outside you select the option and tell them where you want them at. I have 2 cord hole cuts and 3 feeding doors the feeding door in the front is xl you just can't see it on the picture that's how good it looks

Those are the feeding doors where the horrible red arrows are pointing at lol.

I think if you want the lid to be functional but don’t mind a bit of an eyesore, go with the DIY. If you want the lid to stand out as a perfectly fitted topper to your aquarium that’s made specifically to suit your needs, go with clearview. I’m also big on aesthetics, so I went with clearview. I bought the Red Sea DIY before I realized all my options and never opened it, I should probably try to sell it but I may try to use it for a QT or something.

LOL I opened it, put it together - and had 3 fish jump and move it - You made the right choice IMHO. I love RedSea products - but this cover (for my tank) was the better option (the clear view)
