Hi, like any equipment in this hobby - works just about a year and fails. It is getting quite frustrating.

I had purchased a clearwater scrubber and started leaking a few weeks ago. I had used aquarium sealant to repair but worked for about a week and started leaking again. I contacted saltwater aquarium where I purchased it from and they told me it is covered for 12 month from purchase. Well, I purchased Aug 2019! so just out of warranty. Anyone had this issue with their ATF. I am guessing they will not cover and yet another piece of equipment in the trash. The ATF worked to lower my PO4 so I definitely will want to purchase another one but most likely will not go with clear water. I see ICECAP has one now - anyone has any experience with this one? good or bad?

Thanks

They are straightforward enough to DIY but if that doesn’t interest you the companies with the longest and quality are Santa Monica and Turbos Aquatics

Appreciate the response. I just checked out both from Santa Monica and Turbos Aq. - they seem to get much better reviews then the ICECAP one. I did contact clearwater. and they said I should have not used aquarium sealant on the acrylic and they recommended something else. I am 2 mo. out of warranty - hopefully they will repair at a small cost. If not, I will look at getting the ones from SM or TA.

I own a Clearwater 300 If it’s the acrylic box that Is what’s leaking you Should fix it. Remove from system clean the area of the leak and use some type of acrylic glue in a syringe and bead along seam and leaf dry. Do inside and outside along seams

Yes, agree and I did receive a response from clear water today. They recommended to use a type of acrylic glue. I hope that I am able to remove that aquarium sealant easily!

Clearwater I believe is out of business. Try teflon tape and sealanrt which should work

How do you know theyre out of business? Their products still seem to be available in most sites.
Tried to get a replacement tube and saw article that they were no longer around but I too have seen some online
I’m under the belief that they discontinued the model 50 only and not out of business

Did you get it fixed?
