Clip on fan on an AIO

Will a cooling fan still work efficiently if it’s clipped onto the back aiming straight down into a back chamber?

Yes, it'll work, but the more area you can blow the fan across, the more evaporation you'll have, which in turn means more cooling.

I have a fan mounted on my AI prime bracket. The fan is controlled with an Inkbird 308S. Temp is steady between 76-77 unless the temp drops below 76 but that is very seldom.

this is exactly what I wanted for a 24g, but will it work through a Jump guard? That’s why I was thinking about aiming at the back chambers. Also if so will it be able to make a dent on 82 degrees either way I place the fan?

I don't know what kind of jump guard you have but I'm sure it'll work. My tank temp highs used to be 81 but if your tank is located in a well ventilated area of your home and you have a fan blowing across the top, i'm positive it will drop at least 3 degrees. Doesn't hurt to try with a $15 clip on fan rather than jumping the gun on a $300 chiller..imo

I was going with the Red Sea one, but I didn’t know where to aim it (at the tank or back parts) and where to clip it on.

I have my fan mounted on a bracket I made off of my “black box” light. It’s also controlled by the cooling side of my Inkbird. Cools fine through the screen top.
