I was just outside rinsing out an old 3 gallon tank I have laying around and sat it down at the top of the stairs while I opened the back door and brought in some more stuff. I accidentally knocked the tank off the top step onto the ground below (don't ask how. I'm capable if some amazingly stupid stuff haha). The top stair is about my height give or take an inch and I'm about 5'8", so that's a decent sized drop. Especially for a 3mm thick glass tank. It fell, hit the bark chip garden bed below and bounced into the side of my brick house.
3mm glass vs brick house. I know who I'd bet on.
Luckily I wasn't betting. I would've lost it all! Not a single crack in the little tank. Not even a chip or a scratch.

Have you had any close calls like this one before? Post em here!

I lifted up my nano once which was half full (wit fish and coral aswell) to clean the salt crust which was forming underneath from the occasional spill and then the unthinkable happend the bottom fell out of the tank but lucky for me everything fell in the bucket that I had just used to take the water out wit you wouldn't believe it in a million years didn't end up loosing or damaging anything except the tank so I know the feeling well Tyler it happens ay lol

I just finished my cycle not too long ago, so LUCKILY I have all hermit crabs, snails, and a chromi or I probably would've been in for huge trouble already, last night my heater decided to malfunction, luckily I'm a night owl from working nightshift and decided to check out my tank at around 1:30am. I couldn't believe it when my thermometer was over 90 degrees and the heater was still running. Needless to say I made a late night trip for another heater and glad that I checked the tank or I would've had boiled snail and crabs in the morning.

I'm doing a new tank build, and doing a freshwater test.
I went around my tank 2 or 3 times checking for unglued fittings, looking at the couple of hose clamps, making sure they were tight, bulkheads, screwed fittings, etc.
So I figured everything was cool.
After the tank was full and running for a half hour or so, everything seem stable, I made a cheeseburger run.
Was gone maybe 25 minutes. Sat down and ate my lunch.
Went over to the tank to check again for leaks and saw a little water on the floor directly underneath the manifold end cap.
So I reached down to see if I could feel water dripping from it and I even gave it a little pull.
I did this while the Reeflo Snapper/Dart pump is running.
The cap started to move a hair, then all of a sudden it tried to come off completely, with a lot of pressure.
There was a actual brief moment of panic.
I was lucky that I was able to push it back on and run around to the other end and shut off the pump.
If it would have come off, it would have been like a charged firehose blowing water out.
There could have been water everywhere. The other end of the 1-1/2 pvc pipe is the discharge of a Reeflo Dart/Snapper.
